Requirements
• 2+ years of experience in using Terraform for IaaC • 2+ years of configuration management and engineering for large scale customers, ideally supporting an Agile development process • 2+ years of Linux Administration experience • Deep understanding of version control systems (git), including branching and merging strategies • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS/EC2/ ECS/ RDS/ CloudFormation, Cloudwatch, etc.) and cloud automation tools (Ansible, Chef). • Experience with software build tools (Maven, Gradle) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins)Must have supported Java-based applications in a production environment • Experience with Linux environments and scripting languages - bash, python, Groovy • Experience in supporting Node.js in production is a plus • Knowledge of service discovery tools such as Consul is a plus • Comfortable working late evening hours, which is when most patching occurs • You are extremely proactive at identifying ways to improve things and make them more reliable.
Responsibilities
• Implement and maintain AWS infrastructure for development teams to build, test, deploy, monitor, and manage applications in the cloud efficiently. • Collaborate with cross-functional team members including developers, product managers, security specialists, operations staff, etc., on various projects within a DevOps framework using Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban to ensure timely delivery of high quality software products and services while maintaining the highest standards for code integrity. • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, manage, troubleshoot, optimize performance, security, availability, scalability, reliability, compliance with AWS best practices across various cloud environments (AWS CloudFormation templates) to ensure that applications are running efficiently and securely in the production environment while maintaining high standards for code integrity. • Implement continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines using Jenkins or other CI tools on a regular basis as needed by development teams, ensuring smooth delivery of software products with minimal manual intervention from developers to operations staff (DevOps Engineer). This includes setting up and maintaining automated testing environments for code quality assurance. • Monitor AWS CloudWatch metrics/logs using Grafana or other monitoring tools on a regular basis as needed by development teams, ensuring smooth delivery of software products with minimal manual intervention from developers to operations staff (DevOps Engineer).
