Meadow - Senior Software Engineer
Requirements
• 5+ years of professional software development experience in a team environment. • Ability to manage projects independently and deliver high-quality work on tight timelines. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Experience building and operating production systems at scale. • Strong backend development experience (TypeScript/Node.js preferred). • Experience building modern frontend applications (React preferred). • Experience with relational databases and writing performant SQL queries. • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and modern deployment practices. • Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability best practices. • What Makes You Stand Out • Experience in fintech, edtech, or other regulated industries. • Experience working at an early-stage or high-growth startup. • Familiarity with payment systems or financial infrastructure. • Experience designing systems that integrate with external partners or APIs. • Interest in higher education and Meadow’s mission.
Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end development of product features from design through deployment and ongoing support. • Architect and build scalable backend services and APIs (TypeScript/Node.js). • Contribute to frontend development using modern frameworks (React preferred). • Design systems with reliability, observability, and maintainability in mind. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, CX, and Integrations teams to deliver customer-facing functionality. • Participate in code reviews and uphold high standards for code quality and system design. • Improve engineering processes, tooling, and documentation to support scale. • Help shape technical decisions and engineering culture as we grow.
Benefits
• This is a full-time position. Meadow wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development, so we take a comprehensive approach to compensation and benefits. The initial annual salary for this position is expected to range from $150,000–$190,000. This range represents the low and high end for a position based in New York, NY.
