Benefits
• As a Placement Cricket Systems Operator, you will be part of our team delivering our world-renowned Ball-tracking & Edge-detection (DRS) technology, Match Officials' Technology (MOT) and suite of Broadcast Enhancement technologies at cricket events all around the world. This role provides a genuine opportunity to create a direct impact on the biggest occasions and moments in cricket; this could be operating the technology to correctly call an LBW decision during an England Test match at Lord's, or telling the story of the impactful bowling spell during the Cricket World Cup Final. • You would be suitable for this role if: • You are currently studying towards an undergraduate degree; • You want to combine your interest in cricket with cutting-edge sports technology; • You want your work to support officiating and/or cricket broadcast analysis; • You’re excited by working behind the scenes on live cricket matches; • You are able to stay calm and focused when the pressure is on; • You take pride in accuracy and getting the details right; • You enjoy practical problem-solving; • You enjoy working in a close-knit team; • You’re curious about technology and keen to learn new skills; • You’re comfortable with travel, irregular hours and time away from home; • You take responsibility for your work and respond positively to feedback. • At Hawk-Eye Innovations, we appreciate and value the importance of potential and growth. If you believe that you excel in some areas and possess the passion and desire to develop further, we encourage you to apply. • At Hawk-Eye, we pride ourselves on our team culture. We believe in fostering a supportive environment where every team member can contribute their best work. Our core values include: • Innovation: We constantly seek new ways to improve and innovate in the sports entertainment industry. • Teamwork: We celebrate our successes and learn from our experiences as a team. • Passion: Our love for sports drives everything we do. • WHAT DIFFICULTIES MIGHT I FACE? • Up to this point, I’m sure there have been many things that you find intriguing about the role; however, there can be difficult times: • Working Hours: Due to the nature of the sports industry, there is often work on weekends and midweek evenings, and we are expected to fulfil our roles until the last ball has been hit. • Travelling Abroad: You can expect to spend, on average, up to 240 days per year on tour away from home. Whilst there are glamorous locations where major tournaments are held, there are also some less glamorous locations too. The countries we visit and the amount of time we spend in those countries will vary from year to year based on where tournaments and events are located. • Working & Living in Different Time Zones: This role is tour-based, which means you will be spending some time away from family and friends, where social events could be missed. Also, working in different time zones can make communication more challenging. • High-Pressure Situations: Working in a live broadcast environment on a production that is distributed to millions worldwide will bring high pressure. • Technical setup: You will be working predominantly with PCs, cameras and related software. A strong work ethic and attitude towards troubleshooting is important in this role. • All of these factors offer different challenges daily as an operator. We will do all that we can to train you and support you to the best possible level, but these challenges should be considered before submitting your application. • APPLICATION & HIRING PROCESS: • Task Submissions: Successful candidates from the application stage will be invited to complete an online assessment. Further instructions and access details will be provided at this stage. Task Submissions will be sent 16th November onwards with a deadline of 23rd November. • Assessment Event: Successful candidates from the online assessment stage will be invited to one of our Hawk-Eye Assessment Events.
