latentlabs - Communications & Marketing Lead
Requirements
• You are an owner. You have built a communications and marketing function from scratch and are comfortable operating without established infrastructure or precedent. You set the strategy and execute it yourself. • You translate complex science. You are fluent in AI for biology—and ideally protein design—and can turn complex Bio-ML research into compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences alike. • You know the full marcomms stack. You have experience across media relations, narrative development, brand positioning, stakeholder relations, content marketing, and crisis and reputation management. • You pitch proactively. You create briefs independently and execute across formats, including editorial content, thought leadership, press releases, case studies, web content, video scripts, keynote speeches, and investor narratives. • You have strong media relationships. You have established relationships with journalists and editors across AI and the life sciences, and you know how to land a story. • You thrive in a dynamic and ambiguous environment. You excel in a fast-paced setting where priorities shift and goals must be met with urgency. You create clarity where none yet exists. • WHAT SETS YOU APART (PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED) • You have done this at an early-stage company. You have built a communications function within a startup or scaling deep-tech or science company, and you understand the difference between moving fast and moving recklessly. • You have a scientific background. You have a degree or research experience in the life sciences or a related field, giving you genuine credibility with the researchers whose work you will communicate. • You have led communications through defining moments. You have led communications around a funding announcement, major product launch, or comparable milestone where the stakes were high and the window was short.
