Requirements

• 8+ years in software quality engineering, with a clear track record of owning quality frameworks across engineering organisations, not just managing a QA team or running manual test cycles. • Hands-on experience building CI/CD quality gates at multiple levels: unit, service, integration, and end-to-end. You know where tests go in a pipeline and how to make them block a release reliably. • Practical experience with AI-assisted test tooling, LLM-driven test generation, agentic QA pipelines, or equivalent. You don't need to have shipped a production-grade system, but you need a genuine point of view and hands-on exposure. • Demonstrated ability to raise quality standards without a reporting hierarchy, you have influenced engineering teams through better tooling, documentation, and frameworks, not through authority over people. • Solid understanding of distributed, event-driven microservices architectures and what testing them well requires: contract testing, consumer-driven contracts, integration test data strategies. • Experience defining and tracking quality metrics: defect escape rate, coverage baselines, release veto rates. You have turned quality into something measurable. • Strong written communication, you can write a coverage standard, gate criteria document, or enablement guide that engineers actually read and use. • Experience in regulated fintech, payments, or banking environments, with a strong emphasis on mobile-first product delivery. You have an appreciation for the stakes of a quality failure in a customer-funds context, particularly within the unique constraints and user expectations of a mobile application environment • Hands-on experience with agentic or generative AI test tooling in production or near-production contexts. • Familiarity with Team Topologies, how Stream Aligned, Platform, and Enabling teams interact in practice. • Security testing experience: SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and how these integrate into a CI/CD quality gate. • Background in crypto, Web3, custody, or blockchain-based systems. • Open-source contributions or external thought leadership (talks, articles, OSS projects) related to quality engineering or test automation. • While your North Star is absolute automation, you possess a "roll-up-your-sleeves" mentality. Responsibilities

• Quality framework definition: own coverage standards (unit, service, integration, end-to-end), gate criteria, and the quality contribution to the function-level Definition of Done. Aligned with Head of Engineering on backend and Head of Frontend Engineering on client-side. • Coverage baselines: define measurable coverage thresholds per service and per tribe, with trend visibility, and drive adoption across teams. • Pre-release veto authority: hold and exercise the authority to block releases when quality gates are not met. Own the automated tooling that makes this veto self-triggering rather than dependent on a single person. • AI-assisted test tooling: define and drive the framework for automated test generation, regression coverage, integration test tooling, and the agentic QA pipeline. You are the designer and driver; implementation is a cross-functional effort with Platform, backend, web, and mobile engineers. • SAT enablement: produce the training, documentation, tooling, and templates that let Stream Aligned Team engineers do quality work themselves, without a separate QA function. • Test environment strategy: partner with Head of Platform Engineering on dedicated QA environments, test data management, and integration test infrastructure. • Quality posture reporting: own the metrics like defect escape rate, coverage trends, release veto rate, AI tooling adoption progress, and percentage of releases requiring no manual quality intervention. • Security testing integration: partner with Security on SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning as components of the quality gate.
