• 2-5 years of experience as in-house counsel, or a combination of in-house experience, government experience, and/or experience at a nationally recognized law firm specializing in the specific responsibilities provided above • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school • Admitted to practice in California or admitted in another state and able to obtain in-house counsel registration in California • Undergraduate degree in life sciences or healthcare-related field preferred, but not required • Experience in contract law, including strong drafting, review, and proofing skills, and demonstrated attention to detail in document drafting • Understanding of contracts and knowledge of key provisions of such agreements such as indemnities, limitations of liability, intellectual property, warranties and covenants, regulatory provisions, performance obligations, dispute resolution, termination and other critical contract negotiation issues • Able to build strong relationships with peers and partners both within and across functional teams to engage high performance in a fast-moving environment • Able to assimilate information quickly, grasping critical factors and risks, while implementing immediate change where and when needed • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Exhibits a flexible and dynamic approach to working in a fast-paced biotechnology company • Able to multitask efficiently and willing to perform all necessary tasks, regardless of level, to facilitate success at driving a project to completion • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Windows, as well as document comparison tools • Available to travel on a limited basis as needed • Physical Demands and Activities Required • Must be able to remain in a stationary position standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time. • Must be able to move about inside an office and exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. • Must have visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, and extensive reading. • This position requires repetitive motion, substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. • Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information. • Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and ability to meet deadlines • Mental • Work Environment • Work Environment • This job operates in a professional or remote office environment and requires operating standard office equipment and keyboards. • The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is listed.
