WRITER - Corporate IT engineer (UK)
Requirements
• 3+ years of hands-on IT engineering or systems administration experience in a high-growth technology environment • Deep technical expertise managing and scaling identity providers like Okta and complex enterprise SaaS platforms including Google Workspace, Slack, and Microsoft 365 • Strong proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, with a track record of building custom integrations and automations • Hands-on experience leveraging AI and LLM tools (such as WRITER, Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot) to accelerate IT documentation, scripting, troubleshooting, and operations • Proven ability to evaluate emerging platforms quickly and make sharp build-vs-buy recommendations that balance speed with long-term scalability • Exceptional communication skills — you can translate complex technical concepts for any audience, from engineers to executives, without losing the nuance • A genuine drive to Connect with cross-functional partners, Challenge existing processes to find smarter solutions, and Own the reliability of the systems your colleagues depend on every day
Responsibilities
• Own the architecture and administration of our core enterprise SaaS platforms — including Google Workspace, Slack, and Okta • Build robust automations and API integrations using Python and Terraform to eliminate manual IT processes and engineer zero-touch onboarding and offboarding for our global workforce • Drive our identity and access management strategy by implementing and maintaining SSO connections, SCIM provisioning, and RBAC across our expanding SaaS ecosystem • Build AI-assisted workflows and tooling that accelerate IT operations, cross-platform troubleshooting, and scripting — helping your teammates move faster with less friction • Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex identity, MDM, and authentication challenges, partnering closely with Security to maintain compliance and governance • Lead IT infrastructure projects end-to-end — from scoping and architecture through production — with a focus on reliability, user experience, and long-term maintainability
