Requirements
• Experienced with Python: At least one year of experience using Python to solve real problems. Ability to debug code and interact with APIs is required. Familiarity with unfamiliar systems for debugging purposes expected. • Customer-focused: Prior customer-facing role experience, such as sales or support, where the ability to help people succeed was demonstrated. Clear communication skills in explaining technical concepts are necessary. Friendly strength and guiding customers effectively is a must. • An automation enthusiast: Experience with building scripts for solving problems, creating internal tools that improve team efficiency, and developing reusable customer tools. Experimenting with AI to enhance workflows but understanding when manual debugging is needed. Thoughtful use of AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot required without replacing human thinking. • Strong communicator: Clear written communication skills in English are essential for documenting work and writing bug reports that engineering appreciates. Collaboration effectiveness in an async-first environment is necessary. • Comfortable with autonomy: Ability to take ownership of problems, move quickly without needing heavy oversight, pragmatic approach over theoretical understanding, bias toward action required.
Responsibilities
• Solve technical problems daily. Handle support tickets during US business hours, with a focus on API questions, data migrations, integrations, and complex technical issues. You'll protect engineering time by solving problems that would otherwise escalate. • Build tools that compound. Write Python scripts for imports, data cleanup, deduplication, and reporting. Create internal tooling that improves support efficiency and external utilities that customers can reuse. Your work will eliminate hours of manual support work weekly! • Enable Customer Success. Assist customers with API usage, migrations, and data transformations. Support Sales and Success teams with technical troubleshooting for large customers. Your work directly impacts customer retention and growth. • Improve our API ecosystem. Write clear bug reports and reproductions for engineering. Contribute to documentation and API examples based on real-world usage patterns. Make Close's API better through frontline insights. • Experiment and automate. Test new AI tools, workflows, and automation approaches. Use AI thoughtfully to accelerate problem-solving while maintaining the quality and depth customers expect
