Requirements
• Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, or equivalent • Big 4 (or top-10) trained, with several years' subsequent experience in an e-commerce or retail business. • Strong experience in Financial Control operations within a multi-entity and/or international business. • Proven ownership of management accounts, month-end close, and balance sheet control. • Experience driving improvements in working capital, payment terms, and cash management. • Experience partnering at C-Suite level on OPEX and CAPEX planning and control. • Experience managing AP and AR processes at scale. • Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with evolving systems and processes. • Experience working closely with Commercial Finance, systems, and data teams to deliver reliable reporting. • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, set standards, and drive continuous improvement. • Competitive and meaningful compensation package for the right person. Responsibilities
• Management Accounts & Monthly Close - Own the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely management accounts across all group entities, geographies, and DTC brands. Drive a disciplined, repeatable month-end close with clear ownership, timelines, and insightful outputs. • Revenue Reporting - Own the revenue reporting process, including the timely completion of the sales to revenue, cash to revenue, sales to cash and deferred revenue reconciliations, including clear, concise commentary on the sales to revenue bridge and deferred revenue movement. • Multi-Entity & International Financial Control - Own day-to-day Financial Control operations across a multi-entity, international group structure. Ensure consistent application of accounting standards, processes, and controls. • Transaction Processing (AP & AR) - Own AP and AR operations across the group, ensuring timely invoice processing, collections, payment runs, and reconciliations. Actively drive improvements in customer and supplier payment terms in partnership with commercial and operations leaders. • Working Capital & Cash Discipline - Own day-to-day working capital management, including payables, receivables, and operational cash drivers. Partner with the business to improve cash conversion, reduce working capital, and embed cash discipline into decision-making. • DTC Brand & Incubator Support - Provide hands-on finance support to DTC incubator brands, covering day-to-day finance needs, cash management, and commercial decision support. • OPEX & CAPEX Business Partnering - Partner with functional and brand directors on OPEX and CAPEX planning, reporting, and control. Ensure spend is planned, tracked, and reviewed against clear business cases and commercial outcomes. Support efficient allocation of capital as the business scales. • Regular Reporting & Commercial Finance Interface - Own recurring financial reporting outputs used by Commercial Finance and the wider business. Work closely with Commercial Finance to ensure management accounts, forecasts, and performance reporting are aligned and decision-useful. • Systems-First Financial Control - Apply a systems-first mindset to Financial Control operations, prioritising automation and scalable solutions over manual workarounds. Partner with the Finance Systems & Data Lead to embed robust, efficient processes and controls into systems. • Team Leadership & Development - Lead and develop the Financial Control operations team, setting clear expectations for quality, pace, and accountability. Act as deputy to the Financial Controller, providing cover, judgement, and escalation support as required. • WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE • Management accounts are delivered on time and accurately across all entities, geographies, and brands. • Working capital performance improves through better payment terms, collections, and cash discipline. • OPEX and CAPEX spend is planned, tracked, and actively managed in partnership with directors. • DTC incubator brands receive effective finance support without weakening group controls. • AP and AR operations are efficient, well-controlled, and increasingly automated. • Commercial Finance receives timely, consistent inputs to support confident commercial decision-making. • Financial Control operations scale with growth without a proportional increase in manual effort. • The Financial Controller can focus on systems, audit, and strategic priorities, confident day-to-day operations are under control.
