Alpaca - AML/Compliance Analyst

• As the AML/Compliance Analyst, you’ll partner with the Chief Compliance Officer of Alpaca Crypto LLC to support and execute the anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance operations for our digital asset platform. This role is critical to mitigating risk, conducting transaction monitoring, and ensuring that Alpaca's crypto offerings operate securely and in full accordance with regulatory standards. • The Compliance Department team is 100% distributed and remote. This role will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, Alpaca Crypto LLC. • Transaction Monitoring: Perform daily review and disposition of transaction monitoring alerts (fiat and crypto) to identify unusual or suspicious activity. • Transaction Monitoring: • Investigate & Report: Conduct deep-dive investigations into complex user accounts and blockchain transactions. Draft high-quality narratives and prepare/file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with appropriate regulatory bodies (e.g., FinCEN). • Investigate & Report: • Blockchain Forensics: Utilize on-chain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic) to trace cryptocurrency flows, identify high-risk wallet interactions, and assess illicit finance risks. • Blockchain Forensics: • KYC / EDD: Assist with escalated Know Your Customer (KYC) / Know Your Business (KYB) reviews, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and OFAC sanctions screening. • KYC / EDD: • Rule Tuning & Optimization: Collaborate with the CCO and compliance engineering to refine and tune transaction monitoring rules, ensuring false positives are minimized while capturing actual risks. • Rule Tuning & Optimization: • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with customer support, engineering, and product teams to integrate compliance controls seamlessly into the Alpaca API ecosystem. • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
