Requirements
• AWS, Docker, Python, Django, MySQL, MongoDB, Clickhouse, Redis, Elasticsearch, DataDog, Sentry. • 7+ years building backend services and APIs at scale • Strong experience with AWS (or similar cloud platforms) • Demonstrated expertise in Python/Django, database design, API design, distributed systems • Experience owning production services, including participating in on-call rotations and incident response • Experience with high-volume data processing and real-time systems • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and explain complex technical concepts clearly • Proven experience scaling complex AWS environments and optimizing performance across the full technology stack during periods of significant growth • Track record of implementing and improving SLOs and observability solutions for backend services • Leadership experience in establishing and improving incident management processes
Responsibilities
• Design and build robust backend services that enable Hive's marketing platform to scale • Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation through deployment and production support • Build and optimize high-throughput data pipelines processing billions of customer data points • Collaborate with product teams to design scalable APIs and integrate with external platforms like Ticketmaster and Shopify • Enhance application performance and reliability across the stack • Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability for the services you build
