Requirements
• The successful candidate is likely to possess the following or similar qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in building construction, engineering, quantity surveying or related field; • 1-3 years’ experience in a relevant field of quantity surveying, cost engineering, contracts management, construction management; • Strong software skills: MS Office Suite (especially Word & Excel), CostX / BIM / Buildsoft / Expert Estimation or similar; • Experience in the preparation of first principles construction cost estimates; • Familiarity with construction cost management; • Excellent written and verbal skills; • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and comfortable with large sets of data; • Able to adapt to a dynamic consultancy environment; • Able to develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems; • English language (written and spoken), other languages an advantage; • Able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure; • Excellent communication and presentation skills; • Willing to occasionally travel domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
• We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated, and proactive team player to join our growing team of highly experienced quantity surveying experts, based in our Dubai office. • The ideal candidate will be a quantity surveying professional with 1-3 years’ experience of working on construction and engineering projects with either a consultant, contractor, or client. Ideally, previous experience of working with an Expert Witness and taking responsibility for leading streams of work and drafting sections of reports or appendices is preferred. • Your primary duties as an Associate, will be to provide support to testifying Expert Witnesses, with a long-term view of one day becoming a testifying expert in your own right. • Some of the tasks you will fulfil in this role before you progress your career with us, will be as follows: • Supporting world-renowned Quantum experts in dispute resolution, litigation support and expert witness evidence; • Performing data research, management and analysis, and assisting in drafting sections of expert reports; • Reviewing documentation (e.g. drawings, specifications, reports, estimates, variations, correspondence and financial data) to identify key details and metrics used to develop expert reports; • Assisting in analysis or preparation of valuations and the processing and use of big data;; • Reviewing documentation (e.g. drawings, specifications, reports, estimates, variations, correspondence and financial data) to develop robust appendices.
