Nortal - (1618) Staff Django Backend Engineer

• Take over and maintain an existing Django application, building on knowledge shared during the transition. • Investigate and fix bugs, and contribute to ongoing application maintenance. • Design and develop new features within the existing application. • Work with the team to review code and deliver changes that are clear, maintainable, and appropriate for the application. • Use AI tools to support onboarding, code review, and development while taking ownership of the work and keeping generated code focused and reviewable. • Take part in Nortal’s Technical Interviewer Program, conducting technical interviews for your account and other accounts to help build the teams behind Nortal’s growth. • What makes you a great fit • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field • Senior-level experience or above, with a high degree of autonomy. • Strong, hands-on Django experience is required. • Availability to work full time, eight hours per day, during European working hours. • A thoughtful approach to AI-assisted development, using it to support your work without generating large volumes of code that require extensive team review. • Advanced English is required for this role as you will work with US clients.
