Requirements
• 3+ years of combined technical leadership and engineering management experience • 8+ years of production application development, backend services experience, and developing API's/micro-services at scale • Proficiency in one or more backend languages (Java, Scala, or Rust). Rust is preferred. • Experience hiring, growing careers and managing performance for engineering teams and leads • Experience working along side with ML engineering teams • Experience leading cross functionally with product managers, other engineering teams, UI team, and customer account representatives • Strong orientation towards building and utilizing lightweight mechanisms, including running retrospectives, operations reviews, and backlog scrubs • BS or MS in Computer science (or equivalent experience) • Familiarity with AI tools for development and test efficiency • Comfortable with ambiguity and taking the initiative • Excitement to make an impact in rewiring US healthcare!
Responsibilities
• This is a hands-on role: You will be deeply involved in architectural design, part-time on coding and code reviews • Lead the development and production releases of robust, observable and intuitive solutions and workflows for healthcare subrogation product lines • Manage a small and nimble team of developers • Develop plans and track production features for on-time quality releases • Understand with data what slows your team down, and develop phased plans to reduce pain points and increase velocity • Own projects aligned with our product development strategy • Influence the direction of the underlying platform to ensure it is extensible, scalable, and secure • Measure impact through metrics • Collaborate with team and external stakeholders such as Product Managers, Backend and Frontend Engineers, UX team, & our customers
