Requirements
• J.D. and active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar. • 6+ years of relevant legal experience (law firm and/or in-house) with a substantial focus on privacy and data protection. • Deep, current knowledge of U.S. privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA, state comprehensive laws, GLBA, BIPA) and working fluency with GDPR. • A track record of operationalizing privacy, not just spotting issues, but designing and running programs that hold up in a fast-moving product environment. • Strong drafting and negotiation skills across DPAs and data-related commercial terms. • Excellent judgment and communication, with the ability to translate complex legal requirements into clear, actionable guidance for non-lawyers. • Comfort working independently and managing competing priorities in a high-growth company. • Experience advising on biometric data and/or e-signature and online notarization regulatory regimes. • Understanding of technology and machine learning. • Experience at an identity, fintech, security, healthcare, or other regulated-data company. • Familiarity with AI/ML governance and emerging AI regulation (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF). • Working knowledge of security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO, NIST) and incident response. • Privacy certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT. • AI governance certification such as the IAPP Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP). • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CCSP. • ## Our Proof Pillars: • Pave the Way: When obstacles arise, we break through barriers with passion and perseverance. Responsibilities
• Advise on the legal and regulatory dimensions of Proof's use of AI and machine learning, including identity verification, biometric comparison, and fraud detection. • Help build and run Proof's AI governance framework: model risk, transparency, fairness, and vendor AI assessments.
