Requirements
• Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM, etc.). You are locally licensed in a U.S. jurisdiction, and ideally you have legal experience in multiple jurisdictions. • 6+ years of legal experience at a top law firm and/or in house, with ideally 3+ years of in-house product counseling and/or regulatory experience. • Strong background advising on global platform compliance laws, like in data protection, content regulation, and child safety. • Demonstrated experience advising on regulatory readiness in a fast paced, product-forward environment. • Strong legal drafting and writing skills and a penchant for concise, plain English writing. • Experience responding to and partnering with regulators, particularly in Europe. • Experience collaborating and building relationships effectively across time zones and with cross-functional partners at all levels of the business. • Ability to assess risk strategically and help clients manage risk while achieving their goals. • Pay Transparency: • Pay Transparency: • This job posting may span more than one career level. • In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. • The base salary range for this position is: • $230,000 - $322,000 USD • In select roles and locations, the interviews will be recorded, transcribed and summarized by artificial intelligence (AI). You will have the opportunity to opt out of recording, transcription and summarization prior to any scheduled interviews. • During the interview, we will collect the following categories of personal information: Identifiers, Professional and Employment-Related Information, Sensory Information (audio/video recording), and any other categories of personal information you choose to share with us. Responsibilities
• Manage and respond to regulatory requests from around the world about how Reddit’s products work. • Manage government and regulator discussions, negotiations, and disclosures on compliance readiness efforts. • Review proposed and new regulations to analyze potential business impact and/or advocate for changes in the law. • Provide advice and counsel to ensure Reddit meets its legal obligations and legal requirements under US, EU, and other applicable legal frameworks. • Be a lead legal subject matter expert on areas of online platform regulation, ensuring consistency in counseling across the legal team, in line with Reddit’s user-centric approach. • Serve as a strategic, proactive, and pragmatic legal partner to help product and business teams anticipate and plan for future regulatory risks and requirements.
