SpecterOps - Web Developer-Contract
Requirements
• 5+ years of professional web development experience, with significant focus on WordPress • Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (vanilla and/or modern frameworks) • Hands-on experience building and customizing WordPress themes and plugins from scratch • Experience with WordPress VIP, including familiarity with its hosting environment, deployment workflows, and code standards • Familiarity with page builders such as Elementor, Gutenberg, or similar tools • Experience integrating HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, or similar platforms • Understanding of web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and technical SEO • Solid grasp of WordPress security best practices and site hardening • Experience with Git-based version control workflows • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment • Strong written communication skills for async collaboration • Experience with B2B tech or cybersecurity companies • Familiarity with headless WordPress or REST API integrations
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain WordPress-based web properties, including custom themes and plugins • Build and update landing pages, campaign pages, and site sections in close collaboration with Marketing and Design • Implement responsive, accessible, and cross-browser-compatible front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) • Optimize site performance including page speed, Core Web Vitals, and SEO best practices • Manage WordPress configuration, plugin updates, and security hardening • Integrate third-party tools and APIs including CRM, marketing automation, and analytics platforms • Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end issues in a timely manner • Maintain clean, well-documented code and follow established development standards • Support QA and testing processes to ensure consistent, high-quality releases • Collaborate asynchronously with a remote-first team across Marketing, Design, and Operations
