Alma - Senior DevOps Engineer
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in DevOps or Platform Engineering. • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of cross-functional infrastructure initiative. You can drive complex projects from design to delivery, working alongside multiple teams. • Proven hands-on experience designing, building, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines end to end (GitHub Actions or equivalent). • Strong hands-on experience building robust automation pipelines and modernizing local development environments. • Production-grade proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (not necessarily Terraform) and container orchestration (not necessarily Kubernetes). • Familiarity with an observability and monitoring stack (Datadog, Prometheus, or equivalent). • Experience with local development environment tooling (Nix, mise, asdf, devenv, devcontainers, etc). • Working knowledge of at least one language from Alma's stack (Python, TypeScript, or PHP) — enough to read, debug, and contribute when needed. • Mindset & ways of working • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a user-centric mindset where your users are your fellow engineers. • A polyglot mindset and high curiosity: You enjoy dipping into different code bases and stacks (Python, TypeScript, PHP, etc.) and are excited to explore new tools to solve delivery engineering challenges. • Communication • Fluent French (primary working language). • Good level of English, for documentation, cross-team exchanges, and technical reading, writing as well as presenting.
Responsibilities
• Your main missions are: • Own and continuously optimize our CI/CD pipelines and delivery workflows, ensuring fast feedback loops and secure deployments. • Own and continuously optimize our CI/CD pipelines and delivery workflows • Build and evolve the local developer experience, making it seamless for engineers to spin up, test, and debug services locally across a variety of languages and frameworks. • Build and evolve the local developer experience • Own and maintain part of our cloud infrastructure and container orchestration platforms using Terraform and Kubernetes.
