Make a positive impact on our climate. • Be part of something important: • EnergyHub empowers utilities and their customers to create a clean, distributed energy future. Responsibilities
• Pragmatic Architectural Modernization: Lead the strategic extraction of our move into a distributed architecture using Domain-Driven Design and other patterns as you see fit. You will ensure we avoid premature over-engineering, balancing technical purity with immediate business ROI and speed to market. • Pragmatic Architectural Modernization: • Sociotechnical & Organizational Design: Apply Conway's Law and actively utilize the "Inverse Conway Maneuver" to ensure our organizational chart and team communication pathways naturally produce loosely coupled, scalable software. • Sociotechnical & Organizational Design: • Platform Engineering Strategy: Guide the creation of our internal developer platform, ensuring it is treated as a tier-one product rather than a ticketing desk. You will define the "Thinnest Viable Platform" to radically reduce developer cognitive load while maintaining team autonomy. • Platform Engineering Strategy: • Decentralized Leadership & Mentorship: Build scalable frameworks for knowledge transfer and asynchronous decision-making (such as RFCs and Architecture Decision Records) that elevate our engineers without creating bureaucratic bottlenecks. You will actively mentor Staff and Principal engineers, helping them navigate complex technical conflicts using data-driven discovery. • Decentralized Leadership & Mentorship: • Executive Alignment: Act as the bilingual translation layer between the C-suite and the engineering floor. You will quantify technical debt, translate architectural constraints into financial and operational risks, and rigorously calculate the Total Cost of Ownership for critical "build vs. buy" decisions. • Executive Alignment: • Other duties as assigned.
