5–10 years of sales experience, including 3–5+ years selling public safety technology
Demonstrated experience selling public safety, telecommunications, or mission-critical solutions within the Canadian market
Proven ability to create, advance, and close public safety opportunities
Demonstrated success consistently meeting sales quotas and building pipelines in net-new territories
Strong applications background and understanding of software systems
Outstanding interpersonal skills to support complex sales transactions and provide clarity and transparency throughout the deal cycle and during issue resolution
Comfortable operating in regulated environments with long sales cycles, multiple approval layers, and high operational accountability
Demonstrated ability to engage internal and external stakeholders, peers, and leadership in a polished and professional manner
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of the assigned sales territory
Experience with NG9-1-1, emergency communications, or mass notification solutions is strongly preferred
Ability to travel up to 75%
Due to the nature of our work with public safety agencies, this position requires compliance with applicable Canadian security and background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive background check, which may include criminal record verification and additional security assessments as required by customer contracts, provincial authorities, or telecom partners. Obtaining and maintaining all required security clearances is a condition of employment. This may include, but is not limited to, RCMP-based criminal record checks, CPIC screening, and customer-specific security requirements.

Responsibilities
Drive growth in the Canadian public safety market with a focus on NG9-1-1 solutions and emergency notification platforms.
Support police, fire, EMS, municipal organizations by modernizing their communications infrastructure for regulatory compliance and operational resilience.
Understand provincial governance models, telecom dependencies, and long-term modernization programs related to NG9-1-1 in Canada.
Build an active pipeline aligned with annual quota expectations targeting specific customer segments within the public safety sector.
Accurately understand and articulate Versaterm’s value propositions for local government agency prospects and decision-mers.
Demonstrate software solutions to agency leadership and end-users effectively.
Operate in a fast-paced, growing business unit while adhering to Versaterm's sales parameters within the Salesforce CRM system.
Stay informed about public safety competitive landscape and emerging technologies relevant to NG9-1-1 solutions.
Perform other related duties as assigned that support team objectives, departmental needs, and organizational priorities in regulated environments with long sales cycles.
Position Versaterm’s call handling and notification solutions within compliance of Canadian standards including CRTC directives, provincial frameworks, and telecom partner requirements.
