Requirements
• Professional experience in education, youth, and/or volunteer management programs. • Strong facilitation skills and demonstrated ability to build community trust and alignment for both short-term experiments and longer-term collaborations. • Proven flair for communicating ideas, with excellent written and spoken English. • A proactive and flexible approach to working across departments, in a distributed and cross-cultural environment. • Able to connect with partners who are typically based in UTC+2 to UTC-5 timezones and make 3 international trips each year. • Typically requires 5+ years professional experience in addition to a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years experience with a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience. • Qualities that are important to us: • You build trust and foster collaboration across complex and cross-cultural environments, especially where shared ownership and influence without authority are key to success. • You are a thoughtful communicator who believes in genuine, inclusive, and equitable engagement with communities and volunteers. • A passion for open access to knowledge and/or experience contributing to Wikipedia • Fluency or proficiency in a language other than English. • The Wikimedia Foundation is the nonprofit organization that operates Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia free knowledge projects.
