Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including experience at a high-growth startup or SaaS company. • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience managing a monthly close. • Experience with revenue recognition and other accounting issues common to subscription software businesses. • A track record of independently researching problems, developing a point of view, and driving issues to resolution. • Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to identify when a process, transaction, or result does not make sense. • Comfort operating in an environment where processes may still need to be created or improved. • Experience using AI tools in day-to-day work and curiosity about how they can improve accounting operations. • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams. • CPA and/or public accounting experience. • Experience improving or automating accounting processes in a scaling organization.

Responsibilities

• Own significant areas of the monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and financial reporting. • Manage accounting for key areas such as revenue, accounts receivable, payroll, commissions, operating expenses, prepaids, and fixed assets. • Review contracts and business activities to identify and resolve accounting implications. • Own and continuously improve accounting workflows in Rillet and other tools within our finance technology stack. • Build processes and controls that improve accuracy without creating unnecessary complexity. • Use AI and automation to reduce manual work and improve the speed and quality of the close. • Partner with Strategic Finance and teams across the company to ensure transactions are recorded correctly and issues are addressed early. • Support the annual audit, tax filings, and other compliance requirements. • Take ownership of new accounting projects as the company and our products continue to evolve.
