Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. • 5-12 years of software development experience. • Experience with scalable software development. • Proven experience leading teams and developing software • Strong proficiency with Python and Software Design practices • Experience with Scientific Computation libraries (numpy, scikit-spatial, shapely, openseespy, etc.) • Experience with desktop GUI frameworks such as PySide6 or Tkinter • Experience with desktop development design patterns such as MVVM • Ownership – responsibility for your work and projects. • Problem-solving ability – ability to address and overcome challenges. • Communication skills – work well with team members, stakeholders, and clients. • Attention to detail. • Ability to lead technical and mentor junior teammates
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain high-quality software systems. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements for new features and enhancements. • Design, code, test, integrate, and deploy applications using modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python). • Optimize existing solutions by refactoring legacy code where necessary. • Document software designs and architecture decisions clearly in technical reports or wikis for future reference. • Conduct regular code reviews to ensure quality standards are met and provide constructive feedback on peers' work. • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions as needed. • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to the company’s software development practices. • Participate in code repository management by committing changes regularly and maintaining a clean commit history for team members. • Provide technical leadership within your group, mentoring junior engineers on best coding practices and project methodology adherence.
