OpenFX - Product Operations Manager
Requirements
• Direct experience in cross-border payments, FX, stablecoins, or B2B fintech infrastructure is a meaningful plus, not a requirement. We can teach the domain. We cannot teach the operational craft or the systems thinking. • Comfortable in a globally distributed, asynchronous-by-default operating model. Communication standards matter. • Prior experience as a founding Product Ops hire at another company, or as the first IC hire scaling a Product Operations function under a Head of Product Ops.
Responsibilities
• Four contribution areas. You will be empowered to drive these forward and we expect to flex the specific mix based on what you are strongest at. If you are a systems thinker with ambition and ideally a fintech background, we will shape the role to make you most effective. • Product craft and standards enablement. Help raise the bar on how PMs work: discovery, hypothesis formation, written craft, trade-off thinking. Enhance the tooling that makes craft scalable, including PRD templates, mini-briefs, the AI-driven PRD review pipeline, and the playbooks underneath. • Product craft and standards enablement. • Launch operations and Cross functional partnership. Support Product Managers through Go-Live. Own the cross-functional interface to GTM, Customer Success, and Operations on the launch motion: pre-launch readiness, the post-launch Customer.io operational stack, lifecycle and adoption campaigns, launch retros. PMs own their launches; you make the launch motion smoother and more repeatable, and you close the loop on whether what shipped actually got adopted. • Launch operations and Cross functional partnership. • Insights and data evangelism. Help the product team listen better. Pull qualitative signal from the CS product channel, support tickets, client calls, and JTBD research into a usable layer for PMs. Connect that signal to competitive and regulatory intelligence in collaboration with the Founders Office. Champion Heap as the product analytics platform: instrumentation, dashboards, Product Health Metrics like adoption, engagement, and time-to-value. You are the layer between raw signal and PRD-ready evidence. • Insights and data evangelism. • AI workflows and product team leverage. Hands-on with the AI tooling stack: Claude, Cursor, agent workflows, MCP-connected pipelines. Identify where automation and agents can change how product work gets done at OpenFX: PRD drafting and review, research synthesis, sprint reporting, roadmap intelligence, competitive aggregation, insight pipelines. Build for your own work first. Then teach every PM around you and bring the team up. Partner with the CTO's office on the internal OS we are building. This is the most material lane for compounding leverage and the one we expect the strongest candidates to be most excited about. • AI workflows and product team leverage. • You will also contribute alongside the Head of Product Operations on sprint reporting, roadmap mechanics, prioritization rhythms, and operating cadence. Specific ownership inside that bucket will be shaped to where you add the most leverage, with the data-driven and GTM-facing rhythms being natural starting points. • What success looks like • At thirty days. You have built a real read on how the team works, where the friction is, and where the leverage is. You are in standing rhythm with each PM. You are hands-on with the AI tooling stack and have shipped one workflow that materially compresses something the team does manually today. • At thirty days. • At ninety days. You have driven measurable improvement in at least one of the four contribution areas: PRD review quality, launch readiness, insight access for PMs, or AI-augmented PM workflow adoption. You are visibly trusted by the PMs and by GTM as a partner, not as a coordinator. You have a point of view on the next nine months and have started building toward it. • At ninety days. • At twelve months. Product Operations at OpenFX runs at a meaningfully higher bar than the day you joined. PMs are more leveraged, launches are tighter, insight access is faster, and AI-augmented workflows are the default. You have grown into more scope than you started with and are visibly ready for the next thing, whatever that turns out to be. The function has earned the case for a second seat. • At twelve months. • You probably have • You probably have • Five to eight years in Product Operations, Strategy and Operations, or a hybrid senior PM role at a scaled fintech or B2B SaaS. You have helped a product organization raise its standards bar before. • You are AI-pilled and hands-on with AI tools as a productivity multiplier for your own work. You have built agent-driven workflows in a prior role and treat AI as a workflow lever, not a topic for a slide. • Hands-on experience with Heap or a comparable product analytics platform, plus Linear, Notion, and Customer.io. SQL enough to validate your own numbers. Either run a Voice of Customer program operationally or partnered closely with an Insights or Research lead. • You handle ambiguity well, work hard in the way builders and senior operators recognize in each other, and have the political range to operate as a peer of senior PMs and Execs without being one of them.
