Requirements
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or the equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities • At least 8 years of experience in platform or DevOps teams within a SaaS environment, supporting mission-critical, large-scale systems serving high user volumes • Experience designed and publishing client-facing APIs, and enabling said APIs to development teams • Experience in designing core infrastructure services to support applications (e.g. configuration management, IAM, logging, auditing, etc) • Value experience with Kubernetes and the CNCF ecosystem • Experience with high throughput, low latency system • Attention to details and ability to build reliable and scalable software systems. • Able to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues. • The ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, and the ability to meet deadlines • Self-driven & motivated, with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem solving. • Preferred/Valued Qualifications and Skills: • Experience working on projects that move quickly and have ever-changing processes and structure • Be solution-oriented, and when issues arise, be able to roll up your sleeves and tackle them with a ‘get it done’ attitude • Team player with a clear focus on taking the performance of teams to the next level • Enjoys the business side and shows their best self coming up with technical solutions to enable a product vision • Has strong experience building/working on cloud-native SaaS systems • Is a developer of engineers as much as an engineer, exercising mentorship and leadership-by-example to a community of engineers • The Product Team builds our product to disrupt the financial crime industry from a data-led approach. Responsibilities
• Re-architect and scale existing big data processing components powering DSF. • Analyse workload patterns (Spark jobs, notebook activity, DS API usage) and drive performance, reliability, and cost improvements. • Ensure stability of Spark jobs running on EMR or Kubernetes clusters. • Operate and evolve Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN) and Spark runtimes. • Maintain and improve ingestion pipelines between Runtime and DSF (Firehose, Glue → S3). • Improve the developer and power-user experience across JupyterLabs and the DS API. • Collaborate with product engineers, data scientists, and platform teams on DSF roadmap execution. • Own services throughout their lifecycle following DevOps practices (“you build it, you run it”) and participate in an on-call rotation for our mission-critical platform, taking end-to-end ownership to ensure 24/7 reliability, with dedicated compensation. • Ability to work autonomously on complex technical challenges • Preferred/Valued Qualifications and Skills: • Experience running Spark on EMR or Kubernetes. • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS S3, AWS Glue, Nessie, Trino, Spark, Kafka, Iceberg and Airflow • Experience building data pipelines or automation for data-heavy workflows • Contributions to OSS, especially in the Big Data ecosystem • Experience developing or maintaining DS/ML engineering platforms. • The Product Team builds our product to disrupt the financial crime industry from a data-led approach.
