Capco - Technical Data Lead
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or technology delivery, including technical leadership responsibilities • Strong hands-on software development background with experience leading engineering teams • Strong knowledge of modern application architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and microservices • Good understanding of data architecture, data modelling, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data integration • Experience with cloud platforms and modern engineering practices • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and strong SQL fundamentals • Strong understanding of security, scalability, availability, performance, and other non-functional requirements • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and code quality practices • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences • Experience with modern data platforms or technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent is an advantage • Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, Telecommunications, E-commerce, or Enterprise Technology environments • Knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies • Exposure to data governance, data quality, lineage, and security principles • Experience leading or mentoring software engineers and data engineers
Responsibilities
• Lead technical design and delivery across applications, integrations, and data-driven solutions • Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions • Provide hands-on technical leadership, including design and code reviews, troubleshooting, and implementation guidance • Define and apply engineering standards, architectural patterns, and development best practices • Collaborate with business, product, architecture, engineering, and infrastructure teams throughout the delivery lifecycle • Design and build solutions across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments • Guide application and integration design using APIs, microservices, messaging, and event-driven approaches • Ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability, availability, and reliability requirements • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints and drive practical resolution • Support Agile delivery through estimation, backlog refinement, solution clarification, and technical decision-making • Work with stakeholders to balance delivery priorities, technical quality, and long-term maintainability
