Baseten - Design Engineer (Brand Team)
Requirements
• Fluency in modern frontend development: React, Next.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript. • Ability to move from Figma into code and own the final result in production. • Deep attention to typography, layout, interaction, motion, and responsiveness. • Systems thinking, with a track record of building reusable components and patterns instead of solving every page from scratch. • Comfort experimenting, iterating, and using data to make a site more effective without turning it into a growth hack. • Interest in technical products and the ability to make complex ideas feel clear without flattening them. • Strong opinions about the web, and the ability to articulate why something works and why it doesn't. • Experience with motion design, animation, or WebGL. • Experience with Three.js, React Three Fiber, shaders, or creative coding. • Experience building developer-focused or deeply technical websites.
Responsibilities
• Own the design and frontend implementation of the Baseten marketing site. • Ship landing pages, product pages, launches, and campaigns from concept through production. • Improve the site continuously, finding and acting on opportunities to make it better rather than waiting for a redesign cycle. • Partner with growth and product marketing to test messaging, layouts, and conversion improvements without sacrificing craft. • Build polished interactions, motion, and details that make the site feel distinctly Baseten. • Build and evolve the components, patterns, and design systems that let the team move quickly without lowering the bar. • Turn complex technical products into clear, compelling web experiences. • Prototype ambitious interactive and experimental ideas when a launch calls for it. • Make it dramatically easier for the brand and marketing teams to get great work onto the internet. • Set the bar for web design and frontend craft across the company.
