Requirements

Responsibilities
• Core IT & Desktop Support • User Support: • Serve as the primary point of contact for hardware and software issues across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments. • Configure laptops, accounts, and access rights for new hires, ensuring a smooth "Day 1" experience. • SaaS Administration: • Manage user accounts and permissions across platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, and Atlassian (Jira/Confluence). • Asset Management: • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of hardware, peripherals, and software licences. • Networking & Infrastructure • Connectivity: • Troubleshoot office Wi-Fi, LAN, and VPN connectivity issues. • Assist with patching and maintaining network switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. • Structured Cabling: • Manage cabling within the office and server rooms to ensure organisation, reliability, and functionality. • Growth Areas: Data Centre & Laboratory Operations • Partner with scientists to network specialised equipment (e.g., DNA sequencers, microscopes, and liquid handlers). • Assist with “racking and stacking” servers, replacing drives, and managing physical hardware within our Data Centre. • Learn basic Linux administration to help troubleshoot compute nodes and storage servers.
