Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. • 5+ years in process engineering, industrial automation, or control system integration. • Experience with autoclaves, pressure vessels, or steam boiler systems (preferred). • Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming. • Familiarity with data acquisition systems, IIoT technology, and industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC). • Strong understanding of tooling/fixture design. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools. • Ability to travel 25-35%
Responsibilities
• Design and optimize chemical processes for production of pharmaceutical products to ensure efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. • Monitor process performance using real-time data acquisition systems and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal operation conditions. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality control, procurement, maintenance, production scheduling, regulatory affairs, sales/marketing, customer service, supply chain management, logistics, IT support, human resources (HR), and finance to ensure alignment of process engineering goals. • Develop standard operating procedures for routine tasks such as equipment startup, shutdowns, cleaning, calibration, maintenance scheduling, inventory control, waste disposal/recycling, safety audits, emergency response planning, training new operators or technicians and supervisors on these processes to ensure consistency in operations. • Conduct regular process hazard analyses (PHA) using techniques such as HAZOP studies, FMEAs, etc., identify potential risks associated with the operation of equipment/processes under various conditions or scenarios; develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize these identified risks. • Perform root cause analysis for process deviations (e.g., unplanned shutdowns), investigate incidents involving personnel, property damage, environmental impact etc.; identify corrective actions required to prevent recurrence of such events in the future; implement and monitor effectiveness of implemented changes/actions on a continuous basis through regular audits or inspections as appropriate for each situation. • Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) using industry standard symbols, conventions etc.; review existing PFDs regularly to ensure accuracy with respect to actual plant conditions; update them accordingly when necessary based upon changes in the processes/equipment layout due to new technology implementations or operational improvements identified through continuous improvement initiatives. • Participate actively and constructively during team meetings, brainstorming sessions etc.; provide valuable input on process engineering issues that may impact overall business objectives; communicate effectively with other departments regarding their needs/concerns related to the processes being engineered or modified in order to ensure smooth interdepartmental coordination. • Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct at all times while working on projects, interacting with colleagues etc.; adhere strictly to company policies regarding confidentiality/privacy issues; comply fully with regulatory requirements applicable in the jurisdiction where operations are conducted (e.g., FDA regulations for pharmaceutical manufacturing). • Stay abreast of latest developments and best practices related to process engineering, equipment design etc.; attend relevant training programs/workshops as necessary; read industry publications regularly; participate in professional networking events or con
