• We offer a competitive salary, medical, dental, and health benefits, and the ability for you to be your full self at work! While the work is remote, most of the team is NYC based where we have an office. • Salary range: $145-$180k per annum, commensurate with experience. This position is full time. Remote allowed, Washington D.C. area preferred. • Your work would likely include: • Owning and cultivating a significant book of business end to end: methodology, margins, timelines, and outcomes, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks regardless of who is executing day-to-day • Serving as a credible external face for Blue Rose with clients, political partners, and vendors in a way that advances the firm's reputation and evidence-based theory of change • Exercising the independent judgment to push back, reframe, or say no when the situation calls for it • Producing client-ready presentations and deliverables that can go out the door without review; knowing what's worth sharing with the broader Democratic community and what isn't, drawing on deep political and methodological context • Designing and fielding surveys at scale across multiple simultaneous projects, with rigorous attention to quality, timeline, and budget • Working with and mentoring junior team members, reviewing their work and supporting their growth • Translating fluently between data scientists and engineers on one side and clients and political strategists on the other • Identifying and developing new approaches to how Blue Rose analyzes, interprets, and communicates its research • Qualified candidates ideally: • Have deep roots in Democratic politics; you’ve been in the industry for a ~decade or more, and have spent several cycles in a senior role • Have extensive experience in a client-facing or senior stakeholder-facing role • Can comfortably explain basic modeling and regression techniques for a non-technical audience • Are comfortable with SQL and relational databases; can quickly orient to a new dataset, perform exploratory analysis, spot data quality issues, and justify decisions about how to handle imperfect data • Have strong oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated proficiency with producing formal deliverables, from memos to presentations to proposals • Have a desire to work in multi-disciplinary teams with engineers, machine learning data scientists, statisticians and political experts. Are excited about working with less-technical stakeholders and seeing how their work impacts real-world decision making • Enjoy and have experience working in fast-paced environments turning around a high volume of relatively small projects • Enjoy spending as much of your time interacting with other people as you do getting in the weeds of data and methodology • Are solutions-oriented, have strong attention to detail, and are a creative thinker who isn’t daunted by open-ended research questions • Are a kind person and a team player who contributes to a warm working environment • We don’t expect every applicant to have expertise in every area listed above. We encourage you to apply if you don’t feel your experience and background sound like a perfect fit. Many of our team members have taken an unusual path to get to where they are today, and our unique and diverse perspectives make us more effective. We also believe strongly in our team’s ability to learn and excel at new skills and challenges. Join us!
