Neo4j - Technical Onboarding Engineer
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solution Architect, Solution Engineer, Onboarding Engineering, Customer Success Engineering, or Technical Consulting). • Hands-on experience with production workloads in at least one major cloud provider ecosystem (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). • Deep technical proficiency in core networking infrastructure, including VPC/VNet architectures, routing protocols, peering, and PrivateLink/Private Endpoints. • Hands-on experience and technical proficiency in SQL or NoSQL databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.). • Proven track record implementing Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM), including SSO (OIDC/SAML) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) design. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. • Experience with ETL/CDC platforms and data ingestion. • Experience with Linux administration, containerisation, and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, or managed container environments). • Hands-on experience with graph databases (ideally Neo4j). • Familiarity with modern observability stacks (Grafana/Prometheus, Datadog, CloudWatch, Splunk). • Exposure to cloud compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA) and data residency deployment patterns.
Responsibilities
• Drive customer value by translating complex business requirements into tailored technical solutions that solve core business challenges and accelerate cloud adoption. • Lead complex technical discovery sessions with enterprise customers to align on success criteria, KPIs, milestones, and mitigation strategies for project risks. • Guide the instantiation of Neo4j AuraDB environments or self-managed clusters across AWS, Azure, and GCP, establishing secure network architectures utilizing private endpoints and IP allow lists. • Implement baseline system hardening, TLS/SSL termination, encryption-at-rest protocols, and enforce least-privileged access through enterprise SSO and RBAC configurations. • Architect robust data ingestion pipelines (bulk imports, stream processing, Change Data Capture) and advise development teams on Neo4j driver optimization, connection pooling, and retry logic. • Assist customers in configuring enterprise observability tools for logs and metrics, while delivering best-practice workshops on Cypher query performance and backup/restore planning. • Produce high-quality technical deliverables—including architecture diagrams, Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), and a next-step backlog—to seamlessly transition customers to Professional Services and Cloud Operations teams. • Synthesise field insights and lessons learned to continuously iterate and optimise Neo4j’s global technical onboarding methodology and frameworks.
