Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). • 5+ years of experience in software development with a proven track record of building and shipping production systems. • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python and JavaScript, including modern frameworks and development best practices. • 2+ years of experience in a people management or team leadership role, including hiring, performance management, and mentoring. • Experience with systems infrastructure, including cloud platforms, deployment pipelines, and scalable architecture design. • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead engineering teams, fostering collaboration and technical excellence. • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • A high-ownership mindset with the ability to drive initiatives from conception to completion.
Responsibilities
• Build, lead, and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance on technical growth, career development, and best practices. • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and create individual development plans that support each engineer's career trajectory. • Provide technical leadership and guidance on using best practices to review code, adhering to designs to ensure quality, and considering scalability and maintainability. • Partner with Product and Design teams to define project scope, priorities, and technical requirements. • Drive sprint planning, remove blockers, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality features and improvements. • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and building a diverse, inclusive engineering team. • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and psychological safety where engineers can do their best work. • Champion engineering best practices including code quality, testing, observability, and incident management. • Balance technical debt with feature development and establish engineering metrics to track team health and delivery.
