Requirements

• I would document the current process and work with a systems team to scope an automation project • I would stabilize the manual process first and flag automation as a longer-term goal • I would audit the current state, identify automation opportunities, and lead the build • I don't have experience redesigning accounting workflows • I use SQL for basic lookups and filtering but escalate complex data needs to an analyst or data team • I write complex queries independently to pull, reconcile, and validate large transaction datasets across multiple systems • I have used SQL in limited contexts with significant support • I do not use SQL • I utilize LLMs to create complex queries but can execute basic functions myself • I have led or managed a team of accountants responsible for revenue recognition and partner billing, with individual contributors handling the hands-on execution. • I have personally built and maintained the end-to-end revenue accounting cycle, including pulling and reconcile data directly from source systems. • I have designed automated billing and invoicing workflows in a system like NetSuite, hands-on, from initial setup through go-live. • My revenue accounting experience has primarily been at the review and approval level, ensuring accuracy and compliance across work prepared by my team

Responsibilities

• Design and build the end-to-end automated invoicing and revenue accounting cycle in NetSuite, converting current manual processes into a scalable, repeatable solution • Liaise with the data warehouse team to reconcile source data, identify gaps, and drive corrections that ensure accurate data flows into accounting workflows • Own the full invoicing cycle across all partner arrangements — revenue share, commissions, and other structures — from setup through collection • Interpret and account for complex deal structures including tiered revenue share, variable commissions, clawbacks, and multi-element arrangements • Ensure accurate revenue recognition under ASC 606 and draft technical accounting memos to support it • Maintain the AR subledger, reconcile to the GL, and own month-end close across all partner revenue streams • Use advanced SQL to independently pull, validate, and reconcile large transaction datasets across systems • Read and interpret commercial contracts to surface accounting implications; partner with BD and Legal on new deal structuring • Serve as the primary Finance contact for external partners on dispute resolution, remittance inquiries, and contract interpretation • Oversee collections including aging review, escalation, and resolution of overdue balances • Establish internal controls and support external audits related to revenue and partner accounting

Base salary will be determined by candidates' relevant qualifications, knowledge, skills and work experience.
