Responsibilities
• Lead all aspects of revenue accounting, including month-end close, analysis and reporting, controls considerations and technical accounting under ASC 606. • Oversee contract review for revenue recognition implications. • Lead and mentor a team of two revenue accountants, providing coaching and professional development. • Partner with Strategic Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Operations to support accurate forecasting, reporting, and compliance. • Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and controls to support scale and operational excellence. • Support external audits and reviews • Assist the Accounting team as needed with ad hoc tasks and projects • Become a subject matter expert in Virta’s business model, revenue streams, and contracts. • Develop strong working relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders (Strategic Finance, Legal, Commercial, Operations). • Assess current systems and processes and propose improvements for scalability and accuracy. • Take ownership of the revenue reporting process and implement improvements on revenue reporting. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field • CPA with strong technical knowledge of ASC 606 • 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and industry, with at least 3+ years focused on revenue accounting • Experience in a fast-paced, public company environment • 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams and developing talent • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable processes and controls • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally • Comfortable working in a fully remote setting • VALUES-DRIVEN CULTURE • Virta’s company values drive our culture, so you’ll do well if: • You put people first and take care of yourself, your peers, and our patients equally • You have a strong sense of ownership and take initiative while empowering others to do the same • You prioritize positive impact over busy work • You have no ego and understand that everyone has something to bring to the table regardless of experience • You appreciate transparency and promote trust and empowerment through open access of information • You are evidence-based and prioritize data and science over seniority or dogma • You take risks and rapidly iterate • Is this role not quite what you're looking for?
