Requirements

The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education. BlackSky is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside of Herndon, VA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reporting packages, including Balance Sheets, Statements of Operations, and Statements of Cash Flows. • Assist in drafting quarterly and annual footnote disclosures and Management’s Discussion & Analysis (MD&A). • Create and maintain workpapers and supporting documentation for all SEC filings containing financial information (including 10‑K, 10‑Q, proxy statements, and 8‑K filings). • Support Investor Relations in developing the quarterly earnings release. • Coordinate and address comments from legal, finance, management, and external auditors throughout SEC filing cycles. • Assist with maintaining and updating XBRL tagging for all relevant filings. • Complete quarterly and annual GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists. • Prepare responses to requests from external auditors and coordinate the audit support process. • Assist with journal entries related to non‑recurring and complex accounting transactions. • Support SOX controls and the financial reporting sub‑certification process. • Conduct technical accounting research related to significant transactions and new accounting standards. • Serve as an administrator for OneStream consolidations. • Maintain and update BlackSky’s accounting policies. • Assess accounting implications of new accounting pronouncements and assist in implementing required changes across the accounting organization and broader company. • Perform other accounting and finance duties as needed. • Complete other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
