Responsibilities
• Understand the gaps in our current documentation and how to organize and build documentation for scale • Help establish best practices within the technical writing team to keep up with our needs for documentation across projects and products • Manage a team of technical writers • Work with the technical writing management team and other stakeholders to support a collaborative, intentional content strategy across content types, including blogs and video • Collaboratively develop opinionated content that helps users become successful with our products using our technical documentation • Support a transparent project management process to help internal stakeholders track significant updates to our documentation • Promote an approach that focuses on results and supports work-life balance by helping to balance assignments across the team when workloads are uneven, manage conflicting priorities, and prevent over-resourcing • What Makes You a Great Fit: • Experience leading and writing excellent developer documentation in a dynamic, fast-paced environment • Experience interacting with engineering and other internal and external groups to define deliverables, priorities, and processes • Player/coach mentality to engage with an international team • Ability to quickly understand the organization’s needs and develop a plan in response, helping technical writers prioritize high-priority feature release work with other documentation, usability, and process improvements • Experience managing remotely across global time zones • Experience as a technical writer working on developer documentation • Experience working with the open source community • Experience building relationships and advocating for the technical writing discipline with internal stakeholders • First-class written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Experience working with docs-as-code, Markdown, Git, GitHub, and project management tools
