Campus - Economics Instructor
Requirements
• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business or a related field (or a Master's degree in any field combined with substantial experience teaching introductory economics) ; PhD or equivalent advanced degree welcome. • At least 2 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate college/university level. • Preferred: Experience teaching in online, synchronous (live), or hybrid environments. • Demonstrated success teaching introductory college-level economics (Microeconomics and/or Macroeconomics), with a focus on translating complex economic theories into real-world applications. • Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom facilitation skills. • Comfort with digital tools and platforms, including LMS and video conferencing. • Comfort adapting to new educational technologies and a willingness to integrate AI-powered tools into your teaching. • Proactive, reliable, and committed to high-quality online education. • Passion for supporting students from diverse backgrounds. • Available to commit 8-10 hours per week per course, with some flexibility for training.
Responsibilities
• Teach 11-week live, synchronous , online courses using engaging, student-centered instructional strategies. • Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes active learning and student participation. • Provide timely, constructive feedback and respond to student inquiries within one to two business days. • Host weekly office hours. • Work with Teaching Assistants to co-manage the course, including mentoring the TAs on effective grading and student engagement practices. • Evaluate student progress, maintain grade records, and submit mid quarter and end of quarter evaluations. • Participate in optional professional development opportunities and peer-sharing sessions organized by Campus.
