iwoca.co.uk - Technical Recruiter
Requirements
• Technical hiring. You've recruited software engineers, and you can assess engineering CVs on specialism, seniority, credibility, and relevance. • Sourcing. You’ve run outbound sourcing campaigns. You build market maps, test outreach approaches, and reach candidates who wouldn't apply directly. • Judgement. You prioritise where you spend your time – which candidates, which roles, which methods. You adjust to new evidence, and you can explain your reasoning clearly. • Make stuff happen. You take initiative, keep it moving, and have a bias for action. • Communication. You write and speak clearly, directly, and concisely. You explain complex trade-offs in plain terms. • Technical fluency. You treat tools and systems as figure-out-able, and pick up new tech fast. You use AI and judge its output critically. • Analytical mindset. You think systematically and methodically. You gather data, seek feedback, and adapt to new evidence. • Data science hiring. You've hired data scientists working on applied machine learning; probabilistic models for decision-making. • Product or strategy hiring. You've hired for product or strategy roles in tech companies where analytical thinking is central. • Privacy standards. You understand candidate data standards – GDPR, data minimisation, handling personal data. You treat candidate information as sensitive by default.
Responsibilities
• Section 3 of 3: How you approach recruiting • At iwoca, recruiting combines reasoning from evidence, commercial judgement, drive and AI. We look for people who shape the brief, recognise the difference between a good candidate and a great one, and make stuff happen on their own initiative. • Your answers help us decide who to shortlist and where to focus the conversation at interview. • How do you use AI tools – in work or other projects? • Select the option that best reflects where you are right now. • I haven't used AI tools in any meaningful way yet. • I use AI for specific tasks – drafting outreach, summarising technical context, interview feedback, writing recommendations. • I use AI as a thought partner – to stress-test ideas, explore problems, shape decisions. • I use AI to produce work beyond my unaided capability – market maps, outreach, deep candidate research or technical interview content I couldn't produce alone. • I've built AI systems that produce value without me in the loop. • Describe how you've used AI in a piece of work – or something you're building or planning to build next • Professional, academic or personal – all count. Tell us what the problem was, what you used or built, and what happened. Or tell us something new you're planning. • If you've covered something relevant in your CV, feel free to reference it and add context that didn't fit there. • Describe a hiring challenge you solved, a process you built, or something you made happen that wasn't obvious or was on your own initiative • It could be a tough role you cracked when the first approach wasn't working. Or a workflow or automation you built that others ran with. Or something you went after on your own – because you spotted what others hadn't, or because no one else was going to. • Describe what sparked the idea, what options you ruled out, what you tried, and what came of it. Specific examples are more useful than general principles. If you've covered something relevant in your CV, reference it and add context that didn't fit there. • Diversity Survey (Optional) • This survey helps us evaluate our diversity and inclusion efforts. It's voluntary and optional. And, refusal to submit the survey will not affect your job application. • Survey answers are not seen on an individual basis. This submission will only be used to help us with our commitment to continuously improve our diversity and inclusivity best practices. • Either way, thank you for reading. • What is your current age? • I prefer not to answer • What is your gender identity? • Another Gender Identity • Which of the following communities do you belong to?
