Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required. • 2 + years in payroll, commissions or accounting operations. • Payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state and global environment • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations • Goal-oriented personality capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment. • Highly motivated, organized, and adaptable. • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality. • Consistently take ownership of assigned tasks and identify areas for improvement. • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively across teams • Strong mathematical and analytical skills. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) • Experience using Sage Intacct, Rippling, Tipalti, Carta, Salesforce, and Google Sheets preferred but not required. • Bonus: experience working in the clean technology industry. • Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description). • Additionally, while Voltus is an all-remote workplace, we have limitations on where employees are able to work for regulatory and security reasons. We expect that Voltans are working primarily from their home country. Working while traveling to other countries must be approved as per our Global Remote Travel Policy.
Responsibilities
• Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. • Calculate commissions payments on a monthly and quarterly basis in a accordance with approved compensation plans • Reconcile commissions payouts against bookings and revenue data, resolve discrepancies. • Respond to employees or management inquiries regarding commission or payroll calculations and provide supporting documentation. • Coordinate annual updates to Commissions Plan as needed. • Assist with drafting Individual Compensation Plans for sales team members. • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures. • Assist in preparing financial analyses and schedules necessary for audit, and coordinate audit requests with team members • Support various special projects and ad hoc tasks as necessary.
