sequencing - Senior Product Manager, Consumer
Requirements
• What you'll own • The consumer funnel, end to end. Own the path from landing to purchase to activation to repeat engagement, and find and fix the biggest drop-offs. • Subscription and monetization. Own plan structure, pricing and packaging experiments, upgrade and trial flows, paywalls, cancellation and save flows, and win-back. • Activation and onboarding. Make the first 7 days so clear and rewarding that new users understand their results and come back. • Retention and engagement. Build habit-forming loops, lifecycle messaging, and in-product moments that turn a one-time curiosity into an ongoing subscription. • An experimentation engine. Form hypotheses, design and run A/B tests, and use the results to decide what to build next. You’re expected to ship, measure, and iterate quickly. • Consumer discovery. Turn user research, analytics, and feedback (Intercom, Reddit, surveys, support escalations) into clear priorities and a roadmap the team believes in. • Cross-functional delivery. Partner with Design on Figma flows, with Engineering on scoping and tradeoffs, and with Bioinformatics to make complex science feel approachable. Remove blockers and keep work moving. • Metrics and accountability. Define success metrics for every initiative, report on them openly, and tie your roadmap to measurable business outcomes. • Right-sized process. Keep the roadmap, specs, and backlog clear and current in Jira and Confluence, with just enough documentation to move fast without losing alignment. • 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of owning consumer-facing subscription or DTC products at a startup or high-growth company. • Direct experience with the full purchase-to-subscription journey: checkout, onboarding, activation, retention, cancellation, and win-back. • A history of running experiments and improving conversion, activation, or retention, and the ability to describe the numbers you moved. • Comfort with data. You can pull your own analysis, define metrics, and read funnels and cohorts without waiting on an analyst. • Experience working autonomously in early-stage, ambiguous, fully remote environments, and turning fuzzy problems into shipped work. • Strong written communication and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical partners. • Based in the US.
Benefits
• For decades, the human genome has been one of the richest health information in the world, but most people have never been able to truly understand or use it. We’re changing that. • We're transforming billions of genetic variants and decades of scientific research into technology people can interact with naturally and trust. This isn't another health app. It's a new category that brings together bioinformatics, genetics, and consumer health. • Your work won’t just help build Sequencing. It will help redefine how people understand themselves through their DNA for decades to come. • Our values spell out the four DNA bases: Advocate, Commit, Guide, Trust. • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage • 401(k) with company match • Paid time off • Paid volunteer time off annual, during normal business hours • Fully remote work, with equipment provided and internet and cell reimbursements • Parental bonding leave • Private, confidential clinical-grade whole genome sequencing for you and your immediate family
