SmithRx - Financial Data Analyst, Account Management
Responsibilities
• Support the resolution of complex client scenarios by conducting deep-dive data research and root-cause analysis. • Partner with the account team to identify cost drivers, utilization shifts, and clinical opportunities within a client’s portfolio to recommend plan design changes that mitigate spend. • Serve as the primary liaison between Account Management and the Reporting/Data Analyst teams to ensure client reporting needs are technically feasible and strategically sound. • Interpret pharmacy claims data, trend analysis, and rebate projections to provide "the story behind the numbers" for client presentations and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs). • Oversee the integrity of client-facing financial reports, ensuring data aligns with contractual obligations and client expectations. • Work on behalf of the Account Management team, collaborating with internal technical teams to improve automated reporting tools and identify product gaps based on client feedback and data limitations. • Assess financial data for indicators of client attrition risk and work with Account Managers to develop data-driven mitigation strategies. • Act as a data mentor to Account Managers, coaching them on how to interpret financial metrics and present data-heavy slides effectively. • Participate in existing and prospective client meetings. • Deep fluency in the pharmacy benefits space, including an understanding of AWP, NADAC, rebates, formulary impact, and pharmacy network modeling. • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, financial underwriting, or actuarial support within the healthcare and/or PBM industry. • Strong command of data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, PowerBI) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, modeling). • The unique ability to translate "data-speak" into executive-level insights for C-suite leadership and non-technical stakeholders. • A passion for solving difficult problems in partnership with both technical developers and account managers. • An obsession with data accuracy and a disciplined work ethic that ensures deliverables are met with little to no direction. • Ability to observe scenarios from the client’s financial point of view and provide proactive, honest, and transparent recommendations. • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent experience required. • Ability to travel approximately 15-20% to client meetings • What SmithRx Offers You: • Highly competitive wellness benefits including Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance and AD&D Insurance • Flexible Spending Benefits • 401(k) Retirement Savings Program • Short-term and long-term disability • Discretionary Paid Time Off • Paid Company Holidays • Wellness Benefits • Commuter Benefits • Paid Parental Leave benefits • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) • Well-stocked kitchen in office locations • Professional development and training opportunities
