Atlas HXM - Senior Employment Counsel
Responsibilities
• Provide practical sound legal advice and counsel to internal teams, and management on all legal issues concerning the employment relationship, including, but not limited to, employment agreement review, leaves and benefits, workplace policies, protected status rights, terminations and restructuring in the context of our Employer Of Record (EOR) services • Draft and negotiate employment agreements and mutual separation/exit agreements, and employment-related documentation. • Monitor and interpret employment law developments across APAC and other international jurisdictions, and proactively update internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance. • Support client onboarding and offboarding processes by summarizing country-specific employment risks, regulatory requirements, and best practices. This role will be partially client-facing. • Strategically and cost-effectively manage and partner with outside counsel in employment litigation matters. • Advising and counselling on day-to-day issues as well as strategic and systemic projects. • Support internal training initiatives by providing legal guidance on labor law topics relevant to client-facing teams and regional HR partners. • You are licensed to practice law in an APAC jurisdiction and are in good standing in all jurisdictions where admitted. • You have 4+ years of relevant experience practicing employment law within the APAC region where you are licensed. Experience in both law firm practice and in-house work will be preferred. • You have strong research skills and a strong command of employment laws, regulations, and best practices across multiple APAC jurisdictions, and stay current on legislative changes. • You have substantive experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements and other employment related documentation both domestically and internationally and can work autonomously. • You are comfortable working independently across jurisdictions and have an established track-record of constructively partnering across legal, HR, sales and compliance functions and geographies. • Experience in Employer of Record (EOR) will be a plus. • What We Value • You have excellent written and verbal communications, strong client relationships management and solid business acumen. • You have strong fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus. • You possess a strong work ethic; are creative, responsive, proactive, enthusiastic, flexible, self-directed, a self-starter and a team player. • You are agile, practical, commercially-minded and have a solution-oriented/ problem-solving approach. • You exercise sound judgment in an ever changing and dynamic industry • You can quickly identify risks and clearly communicate forward-looking, actionable advice in plain terms that enables stakeholders to make fully informed decisions. • You are well-adjusted to a remote working setting and flexible working hours, and able to maintain high efficiency at work. • This position description may not describe all duties, responsibilities, and skills associated with this position.
