simpleclosure - Asset Sales & Delivery Specialist
Requirements
• Sales and negotiation (critical): a track record of closing deals through strong positioning and negotiation, ideally in a short-cycle, high-volume environment. You know how to read a counterparty, hold a position, and find the structure that works for both sides. • Experience: 2-4 years in sales, customer success, deal-making, or a similar commercial role, ideally involving contracts, IP or data licensing, M&A, regulatory environments or marketplaces. • Working with legal: comfortable reading and marking up agreements, partnering with counsel, and responsibly adjusting terms. You do not need to be a lawyer, but you understand rights, licensing, and risk well enough to know what we can and cannot offer. • Strategic judgment: you think beyond the single deal: which terms are worth giving, which are not, and what each concession means for sellers, buyers, and how we structure the marketplace. • Ownership: goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, and flexible. You take a deal from first call to delivered asset, and you thrive in a brand-new market where the playbook is still being written. • Communication: a clear, credible communicator who can earn trust quickly with founders, investors, counsel, and technical buyers. • Operational rigor: organized enough to run many deals at once, keep a clean pipeline, and coordinate delivery across legal, engineering, and operations. Comfortable using AI tools to move faster. • Nice to have: experience in M&A, asset sales, IP or data licensing, legal tech, or the startup wind-down ecosystem; familiarity with software, data, or the AI training landscape. • Motivated by upside: this role carries a meaningful variable component tied to rights secured and assets delivered, so you should be energized by performance-based upside. • We are unable to support any visa outside of Canada (no H1B Visas)
Responsibilities
• Own the supply-side deal cycle from first conversation to signed agreement: qualify sellers and assets, position Asset Hub clearly, negotiate, and close the rights to codebases, workspaces, and other assets. • Build trust with founders, boards, and investors by explaining clearly how licensing works, what rights we are acquiring, and how the process protects them. • Negotiate agreements in close partnership with legal, and responsibly adjust our contracts deal by deal, using sound judgment on which terms we can and cannot give (scope of rights, exclusivity, reps and warranties, and payment structure). • Help select the right assets: weigh quality, buyer demand, and rights clarity, and flag legal, IP, privacy, and third-party risks early, so every asset we take on is one we can license with confidence. • Own delivery: carry each asset from signed deal to delivered product for our AI buyers, coordinating with engineering, legal, and operations on transfer, packaging, de-identification, and buyer acceptance. • Keep deals moving: manage a high-volume pipeline in HubSpot, forecast accurately, and keep sellers and buyers informed at every step. • Be the voice of the market inside the team: share what you hear from sellers and buyers on terms, pricing, and process, so product, legal, and the GM of Asset Hub can structure the marketplace in a way that works for everyone. • Build repeatable playbooks, templates, and workflows (using AI tools where they help) that make each deal faster and more consistent than the last.
