Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Business, or a related field (advanced degree a plus). • 8 years of relevant experience in government affairs, financial services policy, fintech regulation or a related field. Ideally a mix of public sector (e.g., Capitol Hill or federal agency) and private sector (corporate or association) experience. • Deep familiarity with financial services regulation, banking policy, fintech innovation, or payments systems. • Experience working with Congress and/or federal regulators overseeing financial services, identity verification or technology issues. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to craft persuasive policy messaging and brief senior executives. • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with policymakers and industry stakeholders. • Strong ability to translate complex policy developments into clear strategic insights for senior leadership. • A self-starter with sound judgment, high integrity, and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Washington, D.C. metro-based or willing to relocate. Some travel required. • Experience engaging on financial services or fintech policy issues on Capitol Hill or within federal regulatory agencies. • Familiarity with AML/KYC frameworks, digital identity policy, or fraud prevention technologies. • Experience working at the intersection of technology policy and financial regulation. • Interest in emerging policy issues related to AI governance, digital identity infrastructure, and data-driven fraud prevention.
Responsibilities
• Advance policy solutions that strengthen digital identity infrastructure and reduce fraud across government and the digital economy • Shape the policy environment to support secure digital identity, modern fraud prevention, and trusted digital interactions across regulated digital services and platforms. • Lead Socure’s Federal Government Affairs Strategy • Develop and execute a proactive federal advocacy strategy aligned with Socure’s enterprise priorities, including expanding adoption of identity verification technologies, advancing fraud prevention policy solutions, and supporting growth in financial services, public sector, and regulated digital markets. • Advise Executive Leadership on Policy and Political Dynamics • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership by translating federal policy developments, regulatory actions, and political dynamics into clear business implications, risks, and opportunities. Provide timely, decision-ready analysis that informs company strategy and market positioning. • Drive Federal Policy Engagement and Advocacy • Lead Socure’s engagement with Congress, the Executive Branch, and key regulatory agencies. Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, congressional staff, and federal officials, and represent Socure in policy discussions, industry forums, and stakeholder engagements to advance secure digital identity and fraud prevention solutions. • Manage External Partnerships and Policy CoalitionsOversee relationships with lobbying firms, policy consultants, and industry associations to extend Socure’s influence and ensure coordinated advocacy across priority policy areas and legislative initiatives. • Manage External Partnerships and Policy Coalitions • Integrate Government Affairs Across the BusinessPartner closely with Legal, Product, Compliance, and Go-to-Market teams to ensure government affairs efforts support product strategy, business development, and market expansion. • Integrate Government Affairs Across the Business • Monitor and Shape the Policy LandscapeTrack and analyze legislative and regulatory developments affecting digital identity, fraud prevention, financial services regulation, privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance.
