PaveBank - People Manager (Generalist)
Requirements
• Experience managing regional or multi-country People operations • Prior experience in fast-scaling startups or venture-backed scale-ups • Familiarity with modern People systems and tools such as Ashby and Revolut People • Prior experience working closely with founders or senior leadership in a high-growth environment • Strong exposure to building or scaling hiring engines for global teams (EMEA, APAC, US coverage)
Responsibilities
• Talent Acquisition • Own end-to-end recruitment across all functions (sourcing to offer) • Partner closely with hiring managers and leadership on hiring strategy and workforce planning • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines • Ensure a high-quality, consistent candidate experience • People Operations & Payroll • Oversee day-to-day People operations across the full employee lifecycle • Manage payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness • Maintain employee records, contracts, and People systems • Compliance & Policies • Ensure compliance with local labour laws and regulations • Develop, implement, and continuously refine People policies and processes from scratch • Serve as the internal point of reference for governance and best practices • Employee Relations • Act as a trusted point of contact for employee matters • Handle employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion • Drive engagement initiatives and support a strong, healthy culture • Strategic Business Partnering • Work closely with leadership as a strategic People partner • Support organisational design, performance management, and scaling initiatives • Provide insights and recommendations on people-related decisions • Executive / Operational Support • Provide ad hoc support to leadership (e.g. scheduling, coordination, follow-ups) • Assist in internal communications and cross-functional initiatives where needed • Proven experience building People functions, processes, and policies from 0 to 1 in a startup or high-growth scale-up environment • Strong experience working in globally distributed teams and hiring across multiple geographies • Demonstrated fluency in global hiring practices and international talent markets • Strong understanding of Singapore and Malaysia Employment Act; exposure to additional international employment frameworks is a plus • Hands-on experience managing payroll and ensuring multi-country compliance • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across diverse, international teams • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
