Banyan Software - CEO - Simunix
Requirements
• The CEO we are looking for is a commercial operator with a product mindset who leads with an AI-first approach and is energised by the opportunity to create real, lasting business value. This is a hands-on leadership seat in a small, established business, well-suited to a first-time CEO ready to step up, or to a commercial leader who wants to own a P&L end-to-end. • You will have built and run go-to-market motions, treated product as a primary strategic lever, and grown recurring revenue while protecting the retention that makes it durable. You are comfortable selling into both regulated public-sector environments and private-sector markets, and you can move a business forward with energy and discipline while respecting the people and relationships that built it. • Owned the P&L and commercial outcomes for a B2B SaaS or data business, business unit, or function, with direct accountability for revenue growth, retention, and margin. • Built a repeatable go-to-market engine, establishing scalable sales and expansion motions, ideally one that reopened or accelerated new-customer acquisition in a business that had plateaued or relied on its existing base. • Comfortable selling into both public sector and regulated environments (for example, policing, local government, or healthcare) and private sector markets such as financial services. • Shipped AI-embedded product capabilities with measurable customer outcomes, or led sustained AI experimentation with clear conviction about where it creates durable value, and embedded AI into how a business operates: decision-making, team workflows, and go-to-market execution. • Delivered measurable improvements to net revenue retention and pricing power, turning margin durability from a strategic priority into a realised outcome. • Hired and developed talent in a way that shifted an organisation's performance trajectory. • Served as a credible executive voice for owners, boards, and key stakeholders. • Experience in govtech, fraud and identity, RegTech, or financial services would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
• Strategy and Commercial Outcomes • Own the company's strategic direction, market positioning, and competitive response. • Drive revenue growth with full P&L accountability across retention, expansion, pricing, and new customer acquisition. • Build a repeatable, scalable go-to-market engine that reopens new-logo sales and reduces reliance on back-to-base growth, to return the business to double-digit growth. • Expand the addressable market beyond the established policing base to include adjacent public-sector buyers (local authorities, healthcare) and grow the private-sector footprint across financial services, AML, and identity verification. • Establish pricing and packaging strategies that reflect the value the data and platform deliver. • Identify and act on AI-driven opportunities to reposition the product and create a durable competitive distance. • Product and Technology Partnership • Own the product roadmap at a strategic level, ensuring it reflects customer needs, market dynamics, and long-term competitive positioning. • Partner with the operations and technology leadership to translate product vision into execution priorities. • Sharpen the product's fit for the financial services market and bring the emerging KYC, AML, data orchestration, and ID verification propositions to market. • Champion AI-first product thinking, identifying where automation, predictive insights, and intelligent workflows create durable differentiation in fraud and identity intelligence. • Make deliberate build-vs-buy decisions and sequence the roadmap under resource constraints. • Team and Operations • Team and Operations • Build and lead a high-performing commercial team within a close-knit business of around 15 people, raising the bar on sales execution and accountability. • Establish clear decision rights, execution cadences, and accountability frameworks that increase speed and commercial discipline without disrupting what already works. • Work closely with the founder through a planned transition, respecting the relationships and reputation built over more than two decades while bringing fresh commercial energy to the business. • Communicate clearly with Banyan Operating Partners and stakeholders on business performance, strategic priorities, and market conditions.
Benefits
• Base salary of £120,000 plus a £30,000 target bonus. • A long-term incentive (phantom equity) plan, with the new CEO helping to shape allocation across the senior leadership team. • Full operational ownership of an established, profitable business, with the backing, AI expertise, and operational discipline of Banyan behind you.
