Voldex Games - Security & IT Specialist
Requirements
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills • 3+ years of experience in IT Administration • Experience managing device environments and security within a remote-first or distributed company of similar size or larger than Voldex • Strong attention to detail when handling permissions and system access • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests across teams • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of internal systems and processes • Experience managing access and permissions across SaaS tools (e.g., SSO software, Google Workspace, admin panels, etc.) • Experience working with MDM platforms and familiarity with endpoint security best practices • Comfortable evaluating and recommending tools or systems where standards are not yet fully defined • Experience working in a gaming company • Work set-up: Remote-first, with a requirement to travel to our Montreal office approximately once per month for hands-on device setup and support • Time Zone: Must be willing to work 9–5 EST time • Travel: 2-3x / year (company meet-ups) • Hiring Regions: Ottawa/Montreal, Canada
Responsibilities
• Support and improve Voldex’s security practices and internal device management across a scaling remote workforce. Ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient foundations that support high-velocity game development • Design, implement, and maintain company-wide device configuration, security, and compliance standards (e.g., encryption, access controls) • Establish clear, documented standards, processes, and self-service mechanisms for device provisioning, access requests, and lifecycle management, enabling teams to operate independently with minimal ongoing support • Partner closely with Engineering and other teams to implement process, tooling, and security changes in a way that does not negatively impact development workflows or release timelines • Proactively identify risks and inefficiencies across devices, systems, and access processes, then contribute practical, scalable solutions that strengthen security posture while preserving speed and team autonomy • Support identity and access management (including SSO, least-privilege principles, software distribution, and auditability), ensuring teams have secure yet frictionless access to the tools they need • Manage device lifecycle processes (provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and secure decommissioning) while continuously monitoring device health, security posture, and compliance • Secure & regularly audit external platforms (e.g., Discord, Roblox groups, and internal tools), ensuring appropriate access controls, permissions, and protection against misuse or compromise • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies that improve security maturity, automation, and operational efficiency as the company scales
